Changing Minds with VR Experiences
Recent VR sceptic Teddy from Innerspace visited the only virtual reality arcade, or as he refers to it, Virtual Reality Lounge, in Toronto to see if his mind could be changed about VR. Teddy came to VRPlayin not understanding all of the hype around VR. Upon his visit he met with Valerie Blackstock, director of marketing, to see if she could convince him otherwise.
Why the Scepticism?
According to Teddy, he feels that VR is limiting because of the HTC headset and states that, in his visit, he found it to be a “barrier for growth” because of the fact that you are boxed in, and the headset could be limiting for his enjoyment. He had tried VR prior, but was not sold on why it is exciting and why it is becoming so popular. His concern is one of popular belief for those who have not had the opportunity to experience VR and give it a try. We encourage you to try our virtual reality arcade and make your judgement after. However, we promise you won’t be disappointed.
The Breakdown of the Visit
When talking with Valerie, she explained to him that this “barrier” that he refers to depends on your experience with VR and choosing a game or an appropriate setting that will help to better enhance your enjoyment while at a virtual reality arcade. Teddy was shown other types of rooms, including one type of room that has a screen, and the mixed reality room where you experience a 3rd person view point of the game you are playing. The type of room that you experience VR in will depend on the type of game you want to play, as well as the type of VR experience you want. At VRPlayin the choice and the experience is your call! We just make it happen. In the video, Teddy’s mind completely changed. He is seen enjoying his time in the mixed reality room and loves the experience even more than his previous VR experiences. During his visit he said that the mixed reality room was very realistic and made his experience at VRPlayin very enjoyable.
